Message from Rabbi Cosnowsky
What would you take on the ark if you were Noah? Rabbi Cosnowsky tells us what seventh-graders said, and offers some thoughts about disconnecting from all our gadgets. She would like to hear from people interested in a class on Jewish mindfulness and meditation.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, November 19th
The DuPage Interfaith Resource Network Thanksgiving Service will be held on Monday, November 19th at 7:30PM in the beautiful sanctuary of St. Procopius Abbey at the corner of Maple and College in Lisle. The service features broad participation from a wide range of religions including: Protestants, Buddhists, Catholics, Jews, Moslems, Zoroastrians, Sikhs, and B'hai. We hear the prayers of other religions, sung and chanted. The service is a wonderful way to begin the week of Thanksgiving. The warmth and diversity of the worshipping congregation expresses the promise of America. We respect our differences and appreciate that which binds us together. We proclaim a common message of thanks with our words and melodies of prayer. |

Lots of Lewandowski - Special Shabbat Music on November 30th On Friday, November 30th, we will celebrate Shabbat with special music. We will be transported back to the 18th century when we hear Rabbi Cosnowsky sing many liturgical offerings written by Lewis Lewandowski and some of his contemporaries. Don't miss this exciting worship experience.

DuPage United Meeting at Etz Chaim, October 30th
The DuPage United Delegate Assembly will be held at Congregation Etz Chaim on Tuesday evening, October 30th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Our temple is a founding member of DuPage United, whose goal is to take collective action for social and economic change that will benefit the people of DuPage County and surrounding areas. There will be over twenty DuPage churches, mosques, non-profit institutions and the IEA (Illinois Education Association) represented and guests are always welcome at DuPage United meetings.
We will be focusing on The New DuPage: A Look at the Changing Landscape of DuPage County - economic, social, political and physical changes that affect our communities.
To be effective agents of change on the local level, we must understand the bigger picture. Please contact Mary Hason for more information or if you are planning to attend. |

Weekday Preschool News
We have been busy, busy bees the first couple of months of preschool. We started off with a wonderful visit from Rabbi Bob who couldn't seem to figure out which end was up with his shofar. The kids got quite a kick out of the fact that they had to show him just how to hold it!
We learned about all our fall holidays and built a super-cool sukkah for the classroom. Rabbi Cosnowsky has been in to teach us Simon Says in Hebrew. She keeps trying to trick us into making the wrong move, but we are just too smart to fall for that.
We had a great trip to the pumpkin farm. The weather was perfect for a change. We went in the jumpers, down the slides, on a hayride, and got to feed all kinds of animals.
Enrichment has been busy also. We've made some yummy dishes in cooking such as honey cake, vegetable soup, Cubs cookies and taffy apples with M&M's. As for art projects not only have we done finger painting, but we also got to take our shoes and socks off and paint with our toes!
Preschool has been good fun so far.
